Walter Gropius for Rosenthal “TAC 1” Teapot, Jug and Sugar Bowl (1969)

£375.00

The association between architectural giant of the Bauhaus Movement, Walter Gropius, and the Rosenthal Porcelain company of Selb, West Germany began with the commission to design and build a factory and ultimately led to the design of this fabulous range, “TAC 1”, which came to market in 1969.

Stylistically very distinctive, the various forms, angles and proportions of each item play off each other wonderfully as a set. Each piece is finished in a thin concentric pattern of slightly rough lines in a subtlely brown tone and all are in excellent condition (no cracks, no chips). Each piece is stamped in a dark green with the Rosenthal and “studio-line” marks.

Dimensions:

Teapot: 24cm from spout to handle. 12cm height. Diameter at widest part above the base, 14cm.
